New Paperless Data Exchange will allow to reduce time of customs clearance.
In time for the 300 year celebration Pulkovo Customs and Cargo Terminal Pulkovo agreed to a throughbraking new process for customs registration of cargoes.
All necessary information exchange between Cargo Terminal Pulkovo and Pulkovo Customs will be done only electronically.
The new processes will make all exchange of paper obsolete and thus drastically reduce throughput times of bonded cargo.
Within their IT connections CTP provides Pulkovo Customs minutes after arrival of a flight with all relevant information about each shipment, while Pulkovo Customs will in reply advice registration numbers which already allow CTP to hand over the documents to the customer for customs clearance.
"What we jointly have achieved with Pulkovo Customs here in St Petersburg is unique in Russia" says Frank-Uwe Ungerer, Director of CTP, not just a small step, but a real quantum leap, which will have a huge benefit for the airlines and business community in the North West region.

After long negotiations CTP is switched to electricirty. |
|
| |
| November 20th 2002 |
 |
Since 22. October 2002, 9.20h Cargo Terminal Pulkovo is cut from electricity supply from the and operating in emergency mode. CTP follows the highest standards of aviation security. This means weighing and screening of cargo, radioactive -, fire - and theft control, as well as control that non-authorized subjects enter restricted areas. All those technical equipment require electricity to operate and failure could have a serious security impact. This is why Russian law prohibits disconnecting an airport handling company from power supply even in emergency situations.
Known all this, CTP is still the victim of a commercial battle between Spb Electrosety and Lenenergo. CTP has paid all its bills and has a valid contract with Lenenergo. But since one month the parties could not agree on a solution and provide electricity to CTP. Many meetings took place: individually with Lenenergo or Electrosety, jointly with both parties, jointly under supervision of the Electricity Committee of Spb, and meanwhile even in front of the Transport Procurator CTP already weeks ago requested both companies for an official information, why electricity is not delivered. Lenenergo replied that they deliver electricity to the power station TP 4725. Electrosety till today did not inform us officially why from TP 4725 electricity is not further transited to CTP.
The situation is getting more and more critical as failures of the emergency generator increase. CTP in public request Lenenergo and Electrosety to immediately provide electricity and then solve their commercial dispute in a cultivated way.
